Silvia Sorribas

 

Silvia Sorribas (Barcelona, ​​1967) has more than 30 years of experience advising large companies and investment funds in corporate governance, M&A, IPO’s and financial structures, as well as leading multidisciplinary teams in national and international transactions.

 

Since 1990 she has combined her professional career with that of professor of political economy, corporate governance and commercial law at the University of Barcelona, ​​the Carlos III University (Madrid) and the Pompeu i Fabra University (Barcelona). Today she teaches at ESADE business school.

 

Silvia is currently partner of TELAM Partners, a strategic financing and market entry consultancy firm, specialized in infrastructure, energy and technology. The company is focused on disruptive and/or large projects with a national or international impact, which TELAM positions through access to sources of financing, including both equity and debt, as well as key accounts and stakeholders in major markets. Prior to joining Telam Partners, Silvia developed her career as a mercantile lawyer with a high degree of specialization in M&A and capital markets at leading firms such as Arthur Andersen (1990), Garrigues (following the merger of these two firms in 1995) and KPMG. At these firms she led and supervised stock market and M&A operations, both in Spain and abroad, for groups such as La Caixa, Lafarge, Nissan, Daimler, Colonial Real Estate, Abertis, Repsol, as well as numerous national and international Private Equity funds. At some of these companies (Repsol, la Caixa, Abertis) she also advised on corporate governance.

 

At KPMG, as Partner, she was the head of the M&A department and at Garrigues she was Partner for more than 10 years, and was, in fact, one of the first female partners of the firm. Silvia was nominated to the “Best Lawyers” ranking each year from 2005 to 2016.

 

She has a Law Degree with Honors (#1 in her class) from the Central University of Barcelona and in 2010 she completed the Senior Business Management Program (PADE) at IESE Business School in Barcelona.
